Joel Marsh worked under me for the last four years at Kalmbach Publishing Co. as a graphic designer. In this role he preformed a wide variety of tasks including web site maintenance, web promotional work (banner ads, etc.), print promotional work (direct mail and magazine ads), and general lower-level design work for most, if not all, of our 15 titles.
I found Joel to be a very dedicated employee who would always put in a full days work. He designed to meet the expectation of the customer, not to design personal portfolio pieces. While here Joel did not over socialize with his fellow workers but preferred to concentrate on his current tasks.
I would recommend Joel to any company looking for an all-around general designer with both web and print experience.

I had the pleasure of working with Joel Marsh as the Internet Project Manager at Hanover Direct, a multi-channel retailer with over $700M in total sales. As Production Artist, Joel played a vital role in the production process of several consumer catalogs as well as taking on additional projects related to our e-commerce websites.
Joel consistently completed assigned work thoroughly, timely and accurately with minimum supervision. He is able to prioritize projects with constant change and adhere to strict deadlines. In addition to thoroughly understanding all the functions of his position Joel was always flexible and willing to accept additional roles as needed. For example, Joel took on the added responsibilities of managing the creative for our Affiliate Program that positively contributed to the Internet division. Joel has exceptional technical skills and solid understanding of many software applications and languages including QuarkXPress, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and JavaScript.
Beyond Joel’s strong work ethic is his positive attitude. He is a true team player who works towards the common goals of the department and organization. He works cooperatively with co-workers and greatly contributes to a high level of morale.
